Famous all over the planet for its country music and well-known recording artists, many of Nashville's bars and dining venues feature live music. Amongst its numerous tourist attractions, crowds of people visiting Nashville each year flock to both the Grand Ole Opry House and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Many tourists choose to fly into this part of Tennessee each year and the Nashville International Airport (BNA) can be found on the southern side of the city, while the smaller John C. Tune Airport (JWN) lies to the west. The Greyhound bus station can be found along 8th Avenue South and features a number of long distance buses, which travel to nearby cities, such as Atlanta, Birmingham and Memphis. City buses within Nashville are operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority, with the main transit mall being situated on Deaderick Street.

Located alongside the Cumberland River, the city of Nashville contains a number of historic and eye-catching buildings, such as the Tennessee State Capitol, which is situated between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Other notable landmarks include the Parthenon in the Centennial Park, which is an impressive replica of the famous Greek temple.

Downtown Nashville is a fairly compact area and slopes to the south, leading to Broadway, which is the city's main thoroughfare. Worth noting, Briley Parkway is a major road and the main route out of the city center.

Many historic structures and buildings reside in downtown Nashville and form a popular entertainment area, which has become known simply as 'the District'. Many lively cafes, bars and restaurants are located within this area. Nearby and over the river, the Vanderbilt University and Elliston Place lie on the western side of downtown Nashville, close to the Tennessee State University. To the east and near to the Mount Olivet Cemetery, you will find the Trevecca Nazarene University, north of Berry Hill.
